Description
On this October evening the sun slowly sets, letting the darkness
creep into the dense population of trees. The Loess Hills run north to south 200 miles along the western borders of Iowa and Missouri. This formation was the result of glaciers and then strong winds that picked up and deposited the fine-grained silt in areas not far from the Missouri river. The view is from a lookout area in Waubonsie State park
in Fremont county Iowa. Not real close to highly populated cities, this is an ideal place for a quiet hike, a camp out or a Sunday drive.
